Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh - Connecting Histories

Founded in 1670, and with a rich history of scientific research, conservation and education, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is one of the world's leading botanical institutions.

RBGE's Connecting Histories exhibition presented botanical illustrations of familiar and less familiar plants, depicted with both scientific accuracy and spectacular artistry. The exhibition included a truly remarkable collection of Indian botanical drawings from its archives – highlighting long and historic links to India. These unique drawings represented an often overlooked, important moment in the history of Indian art and highlighted the movement of plants through Empire.

Working closely with RBGE's Creative Programmes Producer and Head of Arts, I was invited to create the overarching visual identity for this exhibition. I then designed both the printed and digital marketing materials to promote the exhibition, and finally, designed and artworked the exhibition graphics from concept stage to production install.
